A few years back, I used to be very much into making maps for Unreal Tournament and it's sequels UT2003 and UT2004. Although I don't do much mapping these days, I'm sure someone somewhere might enjoy playing them and seeing how much I improved.

Description: This was the first complete map I ever made, and the first one I released to the public. It shows. Lighting is terrible, textures aren't aligned, pathing and flow barely works. Still, everyone has to start somewhere, right?

Description: UnrealCore announced they were making a community map pack, and I wanted in. This is the map I made for it, which the accepted as they weren't turning anybody down. There's definite signs of progress here, and it's a MUCH better map than Floaty. You can see that I still have a way to go, though. This is where I started to learn how to use the 2D shape editor, which let me make more interesting room shapes.

Description: This map started off as a simple, three box experiment in linking rooms together in a way I hadn't attempted before. I liked the shape it made, and it pretty much grew from there. This is a much more respectable effort than before, and I tried to reduce the number of different texture styles I used, aiming for the generic industrial look. It worked out pretty well, though the UDamage door turned out to be too clever by half and simply annoyed and confused rather than impressed.

Description: Having learned a few tricks and skills in making Mediation, I decided to see if I could go back to Astavitch and make the map I had in mind originally. That idea didn't last TOO long, but you can definitely see the resemblance. I had a lot of fun making this map, for some reason. All the little tweaks and bugs I encountered only made it more interesting rather than putting me off. I think it turned out very well and it's definitely my best work in UT.

Description: I didn't care much for the UT2003 version of UnrealEd when it first came out. Some of my favourite tricks and techniques just didn't work in the new engine, or they worked in the editor but had been coded out of the game. Mediation 2 was my attempt to learn on the job, and it didn't really work. That version appears to have been lost when my site was erased, and I don't particularly miss it. This version is very similar, a tweak to fix a couple of minor bugs added by the release of Unreal Tournament 2004.

Description: I've been playing with this map on and off for a long time. The last few months, I've had a lot of time to play with it. I think I've made things look prettier all around. I've got a better understanding of the way UT2004 handles lighting, which has allowed me to have a little more control over that side of things. I've also worked on rebalancing the weapons a little bit. I've noticed that all the action tends to be on the ground floor, and I was hoping to make people spread out a little bit. I've also thrown in a huge amount of playerstarts. The map can handle a large number of players of bots, though it's still only really designed for four to ten.
